She lives in NC, where homebirth midwifery is illegal. She had tried to birth in a birth center for her first birth, but those places are subject to so many of the same protocols as hospitals. She kept getting sent home from there, and then eventually they made her go to the hospital for pitocin. She ended up with an unnecessary c-section.<BR/><BR/>She had a homebirth VBAC for her second birth. It was "unassisted", but supported (a midwife in training). Totally different experience. <BR/><BR/>I had a homebirth last February. If I'd been in a hospital, they'd have c-sectioned me for sure.
